Getting Around Jersey

Everything you need is within easy reach of the ferry terminal. Whether you want to travel by bus, taxi or on foot, Jersey is easy to explore. Here are the best ways to get around and make the most of your day.

By Bus

Jersey’s excellent bus network makes it easy to explore the island. Buses depart from Liberation Station, just a short walk from the ferry terminal, with regular services to beaches, attractions and villages across the island.

By Taxi

Taxis are available directly outside the ferry terminal whenever ferries arrive.

They’re a convenient option if you’re travelling with luggage, heading straight to your accommodation or visiting attractions further afield.

On Foot

Many of St Helier’s most popular attractions are within easy walking distance of the ferry terminal.

Explore the harbour, browse independent shops, visit the Central Market or stroll to Elizabeth Castle. If you’re not sure where to start, the Visitor Information Centre is just a short walk away and can provide maps, local recommendations and the latest visitor information.

Hire Cars

Prefer the freedom to explore at your own pace? Hire cars are available close to the ferry terminal, making it easy to discover Jersey’s beaches, countryside and coastal viewpoints. Booking in advance is recommended during the summer months.

Cycle Hire

Jersey is one of the best places in the British Isles to explore by bike. Quiet Green Lanes, dedicated cycle routes and spectacular coastal roads make cycling a fantastic way to discover the island.
