We recommend arriving around 60 minutes before your sailing.

Latest check-in is 40 minutes before departure. If you arrive after check-in has closed, you may not be able to travel.

Yes — if you’re 16 or over, you’ll need to bring valid photo ID with you.

We’ll check this at boarding, so make sure it’s in date and easy to read. If you don’t have an accepted form of ID, we won’t be able to let you travel.

A quick heads up: digital copies aren’t accepted — it needs to be the original.

Accepted forms of ID include:

• A valid passport

• An expired passport (domestic sailings only, up to two years after expiry)

• A child listed on a parent’s passport

• Common law passport

• Valid EU or Swiss national identity card

• Valid driving licence (full or provisional)

• Armed forces ID

• Police warrant card or badge

• CitizenCard or Civilian Card

• Government-issued ID card

• NHS SMART card

• Electoral identity card

• NUS card (National Union of Students)

• University or college ID

• Council-issued bus pass

• Young Scot card

• Disabled badge (with photo)

• Government-issued Certificate of Competency (domestic routes only, must be photographic)

• VALIDATE UK PASS proof of age card

• CPP Guernsey ID card

• Guernsey 18+ card

All ID must be valid, in date, and in good condition. If it’s damaged or difficult to read, you may not be able to travel.

You’ll need your ticket and, if you’re 16 or over, valid photo ID.

Your ticket will be emailed to you with a QR code — you can print it or show it on your phone. We’ll check both at boarding, so make sure they’re ready.

You’re welcome to bring luggage, as well as items like pushchairs, bikes or golf clubs — just make sure you can carry and manage them when boarding.

Pushchairs should be fully collapsible, and lightweight options work best. Space is limited and there’s no lift, so you may need to carry items up the stairs.

You can also bring your own food and soft drinks. Alcohol can only be consumed if it’s purchased on board.

You can change your booking at any time, free of charge.

If you need assistance or wheelchair access, email us ahead of time so we can plan your journey properly. On the day, just let our team know when you arrive.

Yes — you can book for as many passengers as you need online. Just keep in mind that full payment and passenger details are required at the time of booking.

Children under 16 must travel with an adult — we’re not able to accept unaccompanied minors on our services.

If you’re 16 or 17, you can travel on your own, but you’ll need written consent from a parent or guardian at the time of booking, along with your own valid photo ID. You won’t be able to travel using a parent or guardian’s passport if they’re not with you.

In some cases, a 16 or 17-year-old may travel with up to two younger passengers, but this is subject to approval and depends on the circumstances.

For groups of 16–17-year-olds, at least one adult must travel with the group (one adult per 10 young people).
